Biography

Hello! Originally from the Puget Sound, I made my way to the Willamette Valley for a B.S. in Spatial Data Science & Technology and Environmental Science from University of Oregon. My main research interest is in using remote sensing approaches to study mountain hydrology in the Pacific Northwest. My current research at OSU is investigating the ability of aerial lidar snow surveys to improve seasonal water supply forecasts in the western US and comparing the relative contributions to forecast errors of current snow conditions and future weather. In 2024-25 I worked for the University of Washington Remote Sensing and Geospatial Analysis Lab (RSGAL). There I worked on a project using remotely sensed thermal imagery to model the connection of spatial variability in stream temperature to wetlands in Steens Mountain, OR, and a project modeling tree encroachment in meadows in PNW national parks using spectral mixture analysis. Outside of my academic work I’m likely to be hiking, collecting (too many) rocks at the beach, or doing a puzzle!
